Yes. Passwords to devices are necessary for technicians to do their job properly and to fully diagnose most problems. All devices are fully tested before the repair, during the repair (while test fitting parts) and after the repair. This is to provide quality and consistent service and to protect the shop as well as the customer. There is no way to do any of this from a secured lock screen.
As for privacy concerns, we can assure you that we’re a professional service with a reputation to uphold. We take your personal information very seriously and only access phone for testing purposes. However, there are steps you can take to make sure your sensitive and personal information is secure. What we recommend is to perform a full back-up and reset the phone to factory settings prior to bringing in your phone. If needed, we can help you prior to dropping off the phone for repair.

Also, sometimes, but not often, we are out of a specific part to repair your gadget. Under these circumstances, your repair may be delayed 3-10 business days depending on the arrival of your replacement part(s).

No, we have found that the cost of fixing an out of warranty television is just to close to replacing it with a new one.
The non-refundable bench fee (associated with liquid damage repairs and non-responsive gadgets) covers the cost of labor when your gadget is not repairable in the attempt to revive your device.
New means the phone has never used or activated.
Refurbished means components have been fixed or replaced.

As soon as a repair are completed and payment is received your device will be mailed out to you.We use USPS Priority or First Class (2-3 days depending on the season) to ship back to you.
Yes and no, it really depends on the phone that you have and what is wrong with it. If it is older than a couple years it is more than likely that we will just be able to recycle it for you but the best thing would be to call or stop by your local Gadget Fix to get more information!
